BASIC ELECTRONICS LAB

SR. NO. NAME OF INSTRUMENTS USE OF INSTRUMENTS
CRO The cathode-ray oscilloscope (CRO) is a common laboratory instrument that provides accurate time and amplitude measurements of voltage signals over a wide range of frequencies.
DC Regulated Power Supply Its function is to supply a stable voltage (or less often current) to a circuit or device that must be operated within certain power supply limits.
Function Generator A function generator is equipment to generate input functions for your circuit.
Breadboard A breadboard (sometimes called a plugblock) is used for building temporary circuits.
Characteristics of PN junction diode kit A p-n junction diode is a basic semiconductor device that controls the flow of electric current in a circuit.
Characteristics of Zener Diode kit Zener diodes are semiconductor devices that allow current to flow in both directions but specialize in current flowing in reverse.
Rectifier circuit kit A rectifier is a device that converts an oscillating two-directional alternating current (AC) into a single-directional direct current (DC).
Characteristics of CE Transistor kit The transistor in CE configuration is used for amplifying the current.
Characteristics of FET kit It is a type of transistor commonly used for weak-signal amplification.
Characteristics of UJT kit The Unijunction Transistor or UJT is another solid-state three-terminal device that can be used in gate pulse, timing circuits, and trigger generator applications to switch and control either thyristors and triac's for AC power control-type applications.
Zener Voltage Regulator Kit The primary objective of the Zener diode as a voltage regulator is to maintain a constant voltage.
Plot the frequency response of CE amplifier Common-emitter amplifiers give the amplifier an inverted output and can have a very high gain that may vary widely from one transistor to the next.
LC & RC Oscillator It is used to produce an output with frequencies ranging from 1 MHz to 500 MHz.
Trainer kit for current commutated chopper The current commutated Chopper is a type of chopper that allows the thyristor to get commutated by the use of an oscillatory circuit.
Trainer kit for series inverter Series Inverter is basically used in high-frequency applications (200 Hz to 100 KHz) because it generates high-frequency sinusoidal waveform.
Trainer kit for SCR SCRs are mainly used in devices where the control of high power, possibly coupled with high voltage, is demanded.
Trainer kit for single phase full wave controlled rectifier The rectifier allows conversion of single-phase AC into DC.
Trainer kit for three-phase full wave controlled rectifier Allows conversion of single-phase AC into DC.
Trainer kit battery charger using SCR SCR chargers provide a constant current-constant voltage-constant current (I-E-I) charge that eliminates the possibility of overcharging, even with line voltage variations of +/- 10%, and allows the battery to finish at the proper current, regardless of its age or temperature.
Power transistor Characteristics kit These transistors are used to amplify and regulate the signals and are made of high-performance semiconductor materials like silicon and germanium.
IGBT Characteristics kit The most basic function of an IGBT is the fastest possible switching of electric currents.
DIAC Characteristics kit Diacs are primarily used as trigger devices in phase-triggering and variable power control applications.
SCR Characteristics kit SCRs are mainly used in devices where the control of high power, possibly coupled with high voltage, is demanded.
SCR Triggering circuit (R triggering) It prevents the gate-cathode junction from getting damaged in the negative half cycle.
SCR Triggering circuit (R C triggering) It prevents the gate-cathode junction from getting damaged in the negative half cycle.
UJT Triggering The UJT is used to more accurately trigger the SCR.
Class Commutation (A, B, C, D, E, F) The commutator on the DC generator converts the AC into pulsating DC.
DIAC & TRIAC Phase control circuit The discharge produces a sudden pulse of current, which fires the triac into conduction.
